Nowruz 2024<br/> — Seattle-Isfahan Sister City Advocacy

SISCA’s 2024 Nowruz Celebration in Seattle City Hall was a testament to the community-building power of people-to-people connections. This event illustrates what’s possible when we join hands in celebration and joy without the shackles of borders and geopolitics. Although it is hard to capture all the excitement of the day and all the work that went into making this Persian New Year celebration a reality, we hope this video will provide a window into what can happen when so many cultures and nationalities come together to celebrate and honor the ancient traditions of Nowruz. Events like this provide a marker within immigrant communities whose children can begin to draw strength, establish roots, and grow into strong, confident, and contributing members of society. Those whose traditions are celebrated feel respected; those who come to learn feel empowered to make a difference.
