Dr. Sonia Gaemi
Dr. Sonia Gaemi, better known simply as “Dr. Sonia,’’ is an internationally renowned specialist in preventative health care, women’s health, and healing., a lecturer, a Master in medical Qi Gong, and Co-Chair of the Committee for Women’s Human Rights and Women and Children's Nutrition of the United Nations Association of San Francisco. Today, she leads an accreditation program to empower Qi Way Health Coaches and individuals worldwide to harness their healing energies to help others live happier, healthier lives. Dr. Sonia and her coaches are helping children learn to improve their health and immunity by practicing Qigong in parks and schools. One ongoing campaign focuses on healthier eating with “Meat-Free Garbanzo Sunday”.
Dr. Sonia’s Qi Way is inspired by her successful battle with cancer and a lifetime of intercultural wisdom. Her holistic, integrative medical lifestyle works in harmony with the transformative power of nature, food, acupressure, Qi Gong, and meditation.
Born in Iran, she has since taught around the world through work with the UN, UC Berkeley, and in schools throughout India. She is a Registered Dietician and holds a doctorate in International Education and Psychology. Her non-profit, Women for Cultural Wisdom Institute, has been focusing on women’s health and hormonal balance for decades.
She initiated the annual One Day for Peace and Healing in 2000 in San Francisco, celebrating with tea and Qigong alongside 72 countries, and has sparked peace projects in many parks, schools, and healing centers across the US, Iran, and the Middle East.
